Christian was
interviewed in the December 2002 issue of Unzipped magazine which is
available now.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2002
I have been
unable to update this website in a while due to computer problems
and a lack of time but here are all the Christian-related things to
report since July 5:
Christian's
favorite film of 2002 so far is The Good Girl.
The extension of
The Phacts of Life 2002 received a nice review in the LA
Times last week. Click here
to read it.
I have added a
page for The Phacts of Life 2002 with pictures from the first
run in July. Click here to
go to that page.
I have also
added some links to Christian's Amazon pages (things he likes) on
the links page.
The
issue of The Advocate dated July 23, 2002 featured an article by
Christian about a TCM documentary on Joan Crawford. Christian
interviewed Christina Crawford for the article.
JULY 5, 2002
This
week's issue of The Advocate contains an article written by
Christian about novels by popular straight authors that feature gay
or lesbian sex in them.
JUNE 19, 2002
Two articles
came out recently about Christian's Phacts Of Life stage show.
One was in the issue of The Advocate dated June 25, 2002 and the
other was a review of the show by the LA Weekly dated June 14-20,
2002. Click on the covers to read the articles.

The Phacts Of
Life has been going very well and will be returning in a month or
two after the last show on July 27th, depending on when the cast are
all available. I hope to post some pictures from the current
run soon.
MAY 18, 2002
A
couple of things to report:
SPYDER
GAMES did not win any Emmys, unfortunately.

Christian
is resurrecting his stage show of The Facts of
Life. Please click here
for pictures and Christian's comments on it. There
are a couple of other things that Christian has in progress at the
moment. Hopefully they will be finalized pretty soon.

Madeline
Long, who plays Mrs Garrett in the show found the following anti-Mrs
Garrett website that Christian found hilarious:

APRIL 1, 2002
Sorry for the
lack of news lately. Not much has been happening. I have
a couple of bits to report though from Christian:
SPYDER GAMES was
nominated for 2 Daytime Emmys! It was submitted in the
miscellaneous "Special Class" category and is up for Best
Writing (that includes Valerie and me) and Best Directing. Congratulations
to all the SG writers and directors. Unfortunately these
categories will not be televised and are awarded at a separate
function on May 11 in L.A. If we win, we'll post the news
ASAP, if we lose, IT WAS AN HONOR (and a big fuckin' shock) JUST TO
BE NOMINATED!
Another
bloated, excruciating 4-hour smugfest named Oscar Night has come and
gone. Lowest Point This Year-- Scrawny egomaniac Julia
Roberts squealing "I love my life!" before
presenting separatist ebony hunk Denzel Washington with his Best
Actor. While I find Denzel's refusal to participate in
white-chick-nookie incredibly racist, I can see why he doesn't want
to put his lips on Julia's gaping wound of a mouth.

Happy New Year
everyone. Here is a wrap up of 2001 from Christian:
HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!
There’s
nothing more irritating than non-updated websites, so I thought it
was time I wrote about the hard, cold reality that WAS 2001.
Despite
the lack of promotion, 11th –hour censorship and
nonstop scheduling snafus, SPYDER GAMES was a major success on MTV,
generating a rabidly enthusiastic Internet-based cult almost upon
its debut. Valerie and
I were stunned at the response from viewers all over the country. MTV maintains message boards for each of their series, and
despite its very, very, very low visibility on the network, SPYDER
GAMES boasted the third most popular and active board on the entire
channel this summer. Only
the 10-year-old REAL WORLD and mega-hit TRL had more posts.
The audience for SPYDER GAMES was out there, and they were
(and still are) hooked. We
were averaging a 1.0 rating by the end of the summer, pretty fuckin'
impressive when you consider that this is a basic cable show that
was not advertised, and that PASSIONS scored in the 1.2-1.7 range
for its entire first year ON NBC! So thanks to our incredible cast, dynamite crew, and
especially all the viewers who wrote Valerie and me emails, set up
their own websites, and basically became the crazed soap junkies we
had only dreamed of inspiring.
This past October it all came together at a very cool fan
event organized and executed by our brilliant fan club presidents,
Patricia (East coast) and David (West coast), ably assisted by the
delightful Regina and Baub.
BOOK
NEWS
SEX
TOYS OF THE GODS caused some trouble in November when it was
discovered that Penguin Books accidentally inserted 64 NC-17 pages
of SEX TOYS into EXCELLENT WOMEN by Barbara Pym, a
G-rated 1950’s literary classic about British spinsters and
repressed clergymen. My
book agent Christopher Schelling alerted me to this after reading
about it at an online book biz news site.
The damaged books first surfaced in a college class in Akron,
Ohio and the “scandal” even made the front page of the Cleveland
Plain Dealer. I called
the English professor in question and he very kindly arranged for
one of his students, the adorable Ingrid Elsner, to send me her
copy. The incident made
NPR and was reported as far away as Australia.
Sadly, I probably won’t make a dime from it!
